At its start Helofuud.com had two primary objectives. The first was to show people that it is easy to lose weight without hunger, pills, or heavy exercise when you eat the right foods. The second objective was to help those suffering from common medical problems to understand that food is directly related to those problems, and often in ways they probably don’t realize. Since then helofuud has evolved into something more.
Helofuud now serves as an internet megaphone, spreading awareness on a broad range of health and nutrition topics. If you want to lose weight you are in still in the right place. If you simply want to make healthier lifestyle choices, you will find that information here too. Most importantly you will find that you don’t have to be a health nut for either. There are many shades of gray when it comes to weight loss and health and they all come down to personal choices.
The perspective you will find on helofuud comes from that of an average Joe family man who lost a lot of weight and learned a number of things over the years that other people and families really needs to know about. Through sharing that information I hope to help others to live happier healthier lives too. If a former fast food junkie like me could change my life in positive ways, anyone can. Perhaps I can save you a little of the legwork I did along the way.
All of the information you will find here circles back to a single foundational principle. Simple is better. There is a lot of really bad information out there about health and food but if you follow the basics, you can’t go wrong.
- Eat whole natural and unprocessed foods.
We live in a world of convenience and this has come at the price of our obesity and illness. (Ex: Corn syrup is not a food and it is anything but natural!)
- Nothing good comes in can or box with pretty graphics on them.
Just because the FDA or some scientist says it’s okay to eat, it doesn’t mean that it is.
- Avoid chemicals and preservatives in everything.
If you can’t pronounce it or you don’t know what it is, don’t eat it or put it on your body.
- You can eat healthy on a budget.
You don’t have to be wealthy to eat better or to make good choices.
If you don’t have excess pounds to lose these concepts will help you to live a healthier, happier, and longer life. If you do want to lose weight, follow these rules to do so easily. With small changes to your daily life, one at a time, the end result is pretty amazing.
More than two thirds of the world’s population is overweight and the use of prescription medications is a common everyday practice. I believe we can change this, day by day, one person at a time. All we need is a little insight from history, nature, and a dash of good old fashioned common sense.
